The Seoul Metropolitan Government has officially launched the Invest Seoul—the first investment promotion agency established by a local government—marking a major step toward strengthening Seoul’s global competitiveness.

Invest Seoul will function as Seoul’s central hub for investment promotion, driving key initiatives such as strategic industry-specific investment planning, tailored corporate support, global company attraction, site development marketing, and the advancement of Seoul as a leading financial center.

At the launch ceremony, Invest Seoul’s inaugural Chairperson, Ji-Hyung Lee, unveiled the agency’s first business plan and stated, “Our mission is clear: to position Seoul as Asia’s premier global investment hub.”
The agency will reorganize its structure to provide end-to-end support across Seoul’s core strategic industries—including fintech, AI, biohealth, and robotics—and aims to attract anchor companies by linking investment strategies with the city’s major development projects.

Invest Seoul also signed MOUs with investment agencies from the United States, France, Japan, and Luxembourg, paving the way for joint global investment initiatives through newly established international cooperation channels.
With Invest Seoul’s launch, Seoul plans to deliver seamless support throughout the entire investment attraction process and strengthen global networks—advancing its vision of becoming a business-friendly, investment-ready city: Invest Seoul.
