On Friday, August 28, 2026, the second session of the YEOUIDO-CONNECT Global Finance Book Lunch came to a close, hosted by the Invest Seoul in Yeouido. The event welcomed around 40 in-person attendees, including IFC tenants as well as finance professionals working in and around Yeouido, and was also streamed live on YouTube. The session featured a keynote by Yoo-seok Seo, former Chairman of the Korea Financial Investment Association (KOFIA), who has been a consistent voice calling for capital market reform.
In his talk, Chairman Seo shared why he joined as a co-author of Post-War Investment Strategy and walked the audience through six specific areas where reform in Korea’s capital markets is urgently needed—bringing each topic to life with on-the-ground insights from his time leading KOFIA. Drawing on his leadership experience as Head of the Retirement Pension business at Mirae Asset Securities and as CEO of Mirae Asset Asset Management, he also highlighted concrete efforts to address key challenges facing Korea’s capital markets, including improving the retirement pension system and energizing the ETF market.
